The storm is coming
Last weekend saw Storm Ciara arrive. The winds produced saw a lot of cowls blown off, leaving the stoves and chimneys below without protection.
We are now bracing ourselves for storm Dennis, so we thought it was probably the right time to address the benefit of having the right chimney cowl in place.
It became busy season
Following on from the many conversations with our team on the road, last week saw a lot of our customers busy. A large number of those were replacing chimney cowls blown off in the wind. The main view was that they were lightweight and more susceptible to being carried off.
It is true to say that you can save money buying an alternative product. It may even be £10 cheaper than than our counterpart. However if your cheaper alternative comes flying off…..
How much does it cost to replace?
Your time, the cost of the replacement, the cost of potential scaffolding, damage caused by the falling cowl or potential damage to reputation. Is that £10 much of a saving?
Food for thought
It is worth bearing in mind that our cowls are renowned for being heavier and more robust than the alternatives. That all our stainless steel cowls are covered by our no quibble 10 year guarantee. If you have an issue you you are safe in the knowledge that we’ve got you covered.
We also have a cowl designed to shine when the wind becomes troublesome. The Mini Eurocowl is also unrivalled in protection against the driving rain the wind invariably brings with it. Video evidence of this can be found by following the link above.
